Antarctica, December, 2010 - January, 2011

A Leopard seal poses for us while lounging on an iceberg near Paulet Island in the Weddell Sea.  They are solitary creatures, coming together in small groups only when it is time to mate.  They can be very aggressive toward humans, but attacks are rarely reported.
