The centenary plaque Pam is reading is dated November 1955, the anniversary of David Livingstone's discovery of the Victoria Falls.  It  refers to the Federation of Rhodesia (northern Rhodesia is now known as Zambia and southern Rhodesia is Zimbabwe) and Nyasaland (today known as Malawi).
