On March 22, 2004 while we were looking out the window of our hotel room at the Mandarin Oriental, the Queen Mary 2 made her inaugural calling on the port of New York.  It was a foggy morning, making the scene even more eerie -- as if one of the skyscrapers was lying on it's side making it's way up the Hudson River.
