London 2009

Just like the original, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre has a thrust stage that projects into a large circular yard surrounded by three tiers of steeply raked seating.  Plays are staged in a manner close to the original -- during daylight without spotlights, speakers or microphones.  All music is performed live on period instruments.  Here Pam is at a production of "Romeo and Juliet" as a 'groundling' -- an audience member standing in the courtyard.  The theatre holds 700 groundlings plus 1,380 sitting.
