Lake Titicaca, Peru 2006

A close up of Isla Estevez, the little island sticking out from Puno into Lake Titicaca.  The only thing on the island is the Hotel Libertador, where we stayed.  In the foreground is the Yavari - the smaller black and white ship which is the oldest to sail on the highest navigable lake in the world (built in 1862).  Behind the hotel you can see a mass of reeds; among them are the small communities of the Uros.
