The Senso-ji complex in Asakusa is a very popular place for the Japanese to visit.  They arrive by foot, bicycle, and subway in droves and most of them stop at the big incense burner in front of the Main Hall.  It is thought that bathing ones hands and faces in the smoke will ward off illnesses.
