The elaborate Five-Story Pagoda of Tosho-gu is a reconstruction dating back to 1818.  The black lacquer doors bear the three hollyhock leaves of the Tokugawa family crest.  That's Pam in lilac standing before a large group of Japanese tourists who visited the shrine while we were there.
