Throughout the cities we visited in Japan were these brilliantly lit pachinko parlors like these behind Randy in Kyoto.  We went in and played a bit, but just like the casinos in the U.S.A. - no photos allowed.  We can tell you that a busy pachinko parlor is much noisier than a room filled with slot machines -- after 20 minutes we had temporary threshold shifts in our hearing!
