Lake Mývatn provides several excellent examples of pseudocraters.  Just a few months before we arrived, volcanologists witnessed the formation of a pseudocrater for the first time in history during a steam explosion with the first eruption of Eyjafjallajökull in March 2010.  Pseudocraters have also been discovered in the surface of the planet Mars.
