Regensburg, Germany 2012

Cathedral square in the heart of the Old City of Regensburg has been a favorite meeting-place for local people and visitors since the Middle Ages.  On the left, directly opposite the two mighty Cathedral towers is the “Haus Heuport” (Heuport House). The impressive mediaeval building complex in its exposed position is intended to emphasize the social importance of its builder. The façade of the building forms a counterpart to the richly decorated western façade of the Cathedral.
