Passau, Germany 2012

This flood gauge on Passau's Old Town Hall has a marker next to it indicating that the square served as a fish market from 1000-1842.  The highest water level ever recorded here during a flood was in the year 1501.  If you think flooding doesn't happen anymore, think again: the number second from the bottom, a couple feet over the girls heads is from 2002.
