Bayeux Tapestry

This building houses the most important and well known attraction in this part of France - The Bayeux Tapestry.  The Tapestry is made of wool embroidered onto linen cloth and is 70 yards long!  It tells the story of William the Conqueror's rise from duke of Normandy to king of England and depicts his victory over Harold and the Battle of Hastings in 1066.  To see one of my photos of a portion of the actual tapestry, roll your mouse over the image above.
