Galápagos Islands

On North Seymour island we enjoyed our first of many sightings of the famous Blue Footed Booby.  Of course, they weren't afraid of us and allowed us to sit right down next to them!  Boobies are tropical sea birds and are extremely agile in the air, diving into the water to eat fish.  On land, they appear clumsy.  Booby comes from the Spanish word 'bobo', meaning 'stupid' or 'clown-like'.
