Here Pam makes her way through one of the narrow passageways which serve the favelas.  Wires are running everywhere, and laundry is ubiquitous.  It's a good thing Rio de Janeiro is not in an area susceptible to earthquakes, or these shantytowns would be mounds of rubble.
