| The spectacular Punakha valley lies at an elevation of 1,300 meters (4,265 feet) and you can see some of the snow covered 7,000 meter Himalayan peaks (22,000 feet +) in the background. We're hiking along the river in the floor of the valley, on our way up to that chorten (stupa) on the mountain in the right/center of this photo. |
