| We had the opportunity to go for a swim in Antarctic waters here on Deception Island. If you are told that there is a possibility that volcanic activity will warm the waters some -- don't believe it! This water is just 31 degrees; fargin freezing cold! It turns out that at the salinity of this water, it doesn't freeze until 28.8 degrees Fahrenheit. Randy is yelling "Take the photo!" to the photographer as we couldn't stand this torture for more than a few seconds. |
