This is the Victoria Falls Bridge which forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe (formerly Northern and Southern Rhodesia, respectively).  The rail line on the left is for freight only.  One lane carries alternating traffic across, and it is not unusual to see a huge lineup of trucks on both sides as they jockey to clear customs.  Pedestrians may cross on either side.
