| Amongst the mainly flat lands around Danang, this group of peaks is known as "Marble Mountain". Locals say the formations of marble and limestone represents a dragon at rest. Marble quarried here is carved into incredible shapes in the village on the other side of the mountains. The mountains are also called Ngu Hanh Son (Mountains of the Five Elements) - each peak is named for an element: Thuy Son (water), Moc Son (wood), Kim Son (metal), Tho Son (soil) and Hoa Son (fire). |
