This is the most famous spot in Monument Valley, known as John Ford Point. Film director John Ford used Monument Valley as a location for many Westerns between 1939 (Stagecoach, starring John Wayne) and 1962 (How The West Was Won, with James Stewart, John Wayne, Gregory Peck and 21 other major stars). Since then, it has been featured in dozens of other films.
