During this summer (2010), an art installation in the Flatiron District and around Madison Square Park has stirred up some controversy.  Thirty-one lifelike nude sculptures by Britain's Antony Gormley were put up on top of the buildings and on the streets, attracting a good bit of attention.  Some even thought they were snipers or people looking to commit suicide by jumping off.
