| The opulent décor of the Russian Tea Room has survived all these years. Originally opened in 1927, it closed in 1996. After extensive renovation it briefly reopened in 2000 but closed again in 2002 partially because of the after-effects of 9/11. It has been open again since November 2006. Useless trivia: Madonna once worked as a coat-check clerk here in 1979! |
