Phoenix 2004

Completed in 1951, this half-sunken building extending from Wright's office into the desert, was initially called the "Stone Gallery." This cabaret-cinema was built as a reinforced concrete and stone structure, including walls, ceiling and benches. Wooden movable flaps in the entrance gallery can be adjusted to open the room to an enclosed garden. At the back end is a large fireplace and a projection booth. The floor slopes downward to the other end to a projection screen small stage and orchestra pit.
