This is Buchanan Rock, along the White Pass & Yukon Route.  “On to Alaska with Buchanan” is painted on the far wall of the canyon. Boys taken  to see Alaska between 1920-1930 by Detroit coal merchant/adventurer George Buchanan painted this to commemorate him.
