| Now Queen Elizabeth's official residence in Scotland, the Palace of Holyroodhouse was once the haunt of Mary, Queen of Scots. It stands at the end of the Royal Mile, opposite Edinburgh Castle. The fountain in the forecourt is only active when the Queen is in residence. |
