| Gibraltar was captured by the British in 1704 and it's taking was formally recognized in 1713 by the Treaty of Utrecht. It has remained in British hands ever since, despite numerous attacks by the French and Spanish. The Great Siege Tunnels certainly provide a military advantage. |
