England 2003

Hadrian's Wall was built by order of the Emperor Hadrian who came to Britain in AD122.  It was conceived and built to be 10 feet wide and 15 feet tall.  About every mile along the way, a small fort known as a 'milecastle' was built for the soldiers (one is directly over our heads here at the Cawfield's section of the wall).
