| This is one of the exhibits in the Dubai Museum, a typical Emirati home prior to the advent of oil. These simple homes were constructed of palm branches and mud. The most impressive feature is the tall, dark brown wind tower -- those were the days without air-conditioning in the desert, and every wisp of a breeze was worth catching! |
