Perhaps the most interesting item at The Museum of Tahiti and her Islands isn't even inside the museum.  Right out front is the anchor from one of Captain James Cook's boats - the HMS Adventure - which was lost whilst he was attempting to land in Tahiti during tricky weather conditions in 1773.
