| This is the Nativity Facade of La Sagrada Familia, all about birth and new life. In the center is the dove-covered Tree of Life, and below the tree you can see a white pelican -- it was believed that this noble bird would kill itself to feed its young and thus in the Middle Ages it was used as a symbol for the self-sacrifice of Jesus. |
