| A species unique to the Postojna cave system is the cave salamander Proteus anguinus. In Slovenian it is literally known as the "human fish" (because of the color of its skin). They are hard to find in the areas where tourists are because they don't like the light. They are a bit creepy because they don't have any eyes! |
