| In medieval times, Bratislava was surrounded by fortified walls and entry/exit was only possible through one of four heavily fortified gates. This on is the only city gate that has been preserved and ranks among the towns oldest buildings. It is known as "Michalská brána" ("Michael's Gate"). |
