The Castle of Good Hope is the oldest building in South Africa. It was built between 1666 and 1679 by the Dutch East India Company, better known as the VOC (Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie).  The six flags seen flying include the current South African flag on the left and the 5 historical flags of South Africa in chronological order.
