The issuing of gorilla tracking permits is strictly regulated. There are about 400 Mountain Gorillas in the Virungas, and we were assigned by the Rwandan National Park to track the Titus Group of gorillas. Our guide outlines how we will climb and track the gorillas and gives us careful instructions.
