The elegant blue and gold Mariinsky Theatre of Opera and Ballet has been the main home of the Russian ballet -- The Kirov -- since the 1880's. We had the pleasure of seeing "Swan Lake" performed here, where it was originally choreographed. This photo was taken AFTER the performance (after 10 pm) with the sun still shining brightly -- this time of year is called "White Nights" as the sky never darkens! |
