These bandwidth meters are useful tools.  It never fails to make me feel better when I run the DSLReports Speed Test and it tells me my connection is somewhere between "awesome" and "insane"!
Internet Video Conferencing Software, FREE!  I'm using Skype regularly, especially from outside the U.S. -- iVisit works with firewalls at either end, even with NAT!!  Fantastic stuff...
