The site of the memorial to the fallen shipyard workers is immediately adjacent to the gates of the Gdańsk Shipyard.  It is a powerful reminder of the suffering and sacrifices made by the people of Poland.  It is the symbol of Solidarity which gradually led to the emergence of a new political map of Europe.
