We stayed up next to the ruins at this wonderful lodge.  It made it very easy to spend a lot of time at the ruins of Machu Picchu.  Originally built as a temporary hotel in the 1970's by the Peruvian government to provide visiting dignitaries a place to stay, it is now a permanent fixture and is owned by the Orient Express chain.
