Machu Picchu, Peru 2006

Intihuatana is more commonly known as the "hitching post of the sun".  The carved rock was some type of a calendar, either astronomical or agricultural.  It stood here for 5 centuries untouched, until in 2001 when a Peruvian beer company was filming a commercial here.  Their 1,000-pound camera boom fell over and chipped off the tip of the hitching post!  You can see the chip if you look carefully at the top middle of the post.
