Cusco, Peru 2006

Cusco's Cathedral is both a religious and artistic monument.  Built in the Renaissance style in the mid-1660's, it houses a huge collection of canvasses from the Escuela Cusquena, a local art school.  The most impressive is a huge canvas painting of The Last Supper with a Peruvian slant - the apostles are drinking chicha (fermented corn-based beer) and eating guinea pig!
