| Not far from Nizwa is the town of Bahla, and this UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is Bahla Fort, built in the 13th and 14th centuries when the town was little more than an oasis. Today, the adobe walls and towers which rise 165 feet above the sandstone foundation are being restored. |
