Our guide at the Victorious War Museum explains how the North Koreans captured the U.S.S. Pueblo while it was spying inside territorial waters. The Imperialist Americans maintain that the ship was in international waters. The 83 crew members were taken hostage and severely tortured. They were only released after the U.S. gave a written admission that the ship had been spying - although the written apology was preceded by an oral statement that it was only done to secure the release!
