Now we are standing in Panmungak, the main North Korean building at the border. We're looking across the JSA (Joint Security Area of the United Nations) which are the blue buildings straddling the border between North and South Korea. The border is where the light gravel turns dark. The larger building in the background is Freedom House, in South Korea (where we were last week - See our South Korea Gallery). We were alowed to take all the photos we wanted looking toward South Korea, but we were not allowed to turn around and take photos of Panmungak.
