This is where we stayed in Pyongyang, the Yanggakdo International Hotel. It's the best they have, about 2 1/2 stars. At 47 stories, it is the second tallest building in the country (the tallest is the Ryugyong Hotel which has never opened). The Yanggakdo is located on an island in the middle of the river Taedong in Pyongyang. We were not allowed off this island without our North Korean minders ("escorts").
