This is the exit from the main portion of the Todaiji Temple.  To enter, we must walk around to the left.  Most of the deer looking for a handout have tired and given up after walking this far, but you can see one ambitious one is still trying.  That's Pam in the center, giving some perspective to the size of these gates.
