The group of buildings Randy is pointing to are at the Fifth Station, about halfway up Fuji-san.  It is just about where the vegetation line is, as you can see in the diagram.  The peak of Mt. Fuji is 12,700 ft (4,000 meters), a little less than half of Mt. Everest.
