We're headed to the lakeside in Como to pick up a ferry up to the mid-lake. Along the southern shore is the Tempio Voltiano (Volta Temple), a museum dedicated to Alessandro Volta - a prolific scientist and inventor of the electric battery. He was born in Como in 1745.
