You can begin to see the carvings of the Jagdish Temple in Udaipur.  Dedicated to Lord Jagannath, an aspect of Vishnu, its outer walls and towering shikhara are heavily carved with figures of Vishnu, scenes from the life of Krishna, and dancing apsaras (nymphs).
