Although the name Selfoss suggests a waterfall ("foss" means waterfall in Icelandic) there isn't a waterfall in this town.  There is a cool suspension bridge over the river, originally built in 1891 and it was the largest construction in the country at the time.  The current suspension bridge dates back to 1945.
