| Dom St. Stephan (St. Stephan's Cathedral) is a Baroque church. It is the seat of the Catholic Bishop of Passau. Since 730 there have been many churches on this site; this one was built in 1668-1693 after a fire in 1662 destroyed its predecessor. On the square in front of the cathedral, known as "Domplatz", is a statue of Maximilian I, King of Bavaria (1806 until his death in 1826). |
