| On the east side of Fronveste, people cross the Pegnitz on "Kettensteg" (Chain Bridge), the first iron suspension bridge on the European mainland (built in 1824). 68-meters long, it would sometimes violently vibrate, so in 1930 the suspension bridge was reinforced with steel girders. |
